Our cupcakes are made with only natural ingredients (no preservatives). That is why we recommend eating them on the day of purchase, when they are the most fresh and moist. The cupcakes can stay good for about 2-3 day (especially the chocolate flavors). It is important to keep them at room temperature and NEVER put them in the fridge. This ensures that the icing hardens and it dries out the cake.
How early up ahead should I place an order?
For a custom cupcakes order we advice to place any order at least 1 week up ahead. For custom cakes 2 weeks especially in summer time since we get booked quickly in the wedding season.
Are your cupcakes organic (organic)?
Our cupcakes contain 8 ingredients ... 4 of these are organic. So our cupcakes are not 100% organic. We were unable to find all organic ingredients for our cupcake recipe. We could also import these from the V.S / U.K, but that creates huge traces of carbon. We do not believe that this outweighs the benefits of organic ingredients.
Can you also make nut-free, sugar-free or gluten-free cupcakes?
I cannot make sugar-free cupcakes because I am allergic to artificial sweeteners. I could therefore not assure that the cupcakes taste just as good! We also do not use marzipan. We do have a number of sprinkles that are manufactured in factories where nut products are also processed. Let us know when you have nut allergy and we will not use any of our cupcake, icing and / or decorations for these sprinkles. We do make gluten-free, egg free and vegan cupcakes, contact us for direct bookings.
Are your cupcakes gelatin-free?
YES! We do not use whipped cream or marshmallows that contain gelatin.
Your topping / icing is soft ?!
.. should it not be hard like other American cupcakes here in the Netherlands? No! ... Other American cupcakes with hard icing are not real American cupcakes! It should be rich and creamy.
Can you make the cupcakes less sweet for my order?
If it wasn't sweet, it's not an American cupcake. I can make it less sweet, but then you get the Dutch version of the American cupcake and that is not my goal. How would you like a Dutch Oliebol to taste in Thailand? .. Nice? No!
What is the difference between a cupcake and a muffin?
Muffin are more like sweet bread, they are heavier, more dense and not always fresh and most importantly- do not have icing on top. They can also be easily frozen. Muffins are also more savory than cupcakes. Chocolate muffins is even less sweet than a chocolate cupcake. Cupcakes are light, airy and soft cakes with a sweet topping. It is not comparable.

What is the history of the Cupcake?
I read that the cupcakes were created by a culinary coincidence, when leftover batter was baked in earthenware cups. One of the earliest saved notes of the cupcakes was in 1828 in the United States. During that time, cupcakes were baked in wood-fired ovens and the larger cakes took much longer to finish. The small cupcakes was the solution. Since then, cupcakes have been traditionally baked by mothers staying at home for their children. Certainly because the cupcakes individually were the perfect serving amount. The cupcakes are a nostalgic childhood part for most Americans and now a global trend phenomenon in desserts.
